wpid-IMG_20130404_222235.jpgSaw part of this on Pinterest and expanded it. Turned out pretty cool. Leaves lots of room for options on decorating them. Only cost me a little over a dollar to make.

What You Need; Full Rubber Flip Flops and matching, or corresponding Yarn. I found my flip flops at the Dollar Tree.

At one end of the strap, tie a knot of yarn around it. From there, single crochet around the strap all the way around the shoe. If done correctly, you would have started at one end and ended at the other. Don’t tie it off unless that’s it and you feel you are done. From here chain across the foot to the other end like a strap. Connect to the other end. Make it sort of tight as it stretches with wear. From the chain/strap, use the stitch if your choice, I used a double crochet, and decrease by row to make a triangle. To check your size, just fold it down over the shoe. Don’t be afraid if you mess up. It’s not that big, you can always unravel it to the chain and start over. Tie it off. Using a yarn needle, sew the flap to the shoe. Decorate as desired.
